Your First Pilates Session
It’s totally normal to feel a bit confused during your first Pilates session. Don’t give up!
Pilates doesn't just happen overnight. It takes time to understand all of the little adjustments your body needs to do to get into the right position for each move in order to feel all of the benefits. And once you've finally wrapped your brain around what it is you need to do, you have to actually get your body to cooperate. Pilates is about learning how to move your body with harmony and in the most efficient way. It will continually ask of you to be aware of certain patterns your body is doing that may cause imbalances in your body, and requires incredible commitment to try to change them.
Pilates is a skill that needs to be worked on regularly. It's one "aha" moment at a time. The more you practice, the more you will get out of it, and the better you will feel. Pilates can feel too easy if not done correctly, and sometimes may feel difficult to understand. Stick with it. Stick with it and you will see the benefits of Pilates spill into your daily life: the way you carry yourself, the way you sit, run, bike, lift weights, and golf. Pilates is a lifestyle worth working for.
